The Mid Term Diary

0720: The alarm rings. I knew I had got hardly 6 hours of sleep for the past three days but I knew that this would be the last day of suffering. The day the mid terms would finally end. I somehow make up my mind to finally get up and brush my teeth.

Turn yourself into a Lord in 9 steps

The other day I was (,as usual ,) facebooking, when I encountered this image, with the tagline
god shiv in himalyas....... Share it u will be lucky for whole year... :)
Blistering Barnacles! Ten thousand thundering typhoons! Isn't this insanity? I agree  that the whole country is very religious, but I wonder who is the person playing with the sentiments of the 1.5 lakh people who 'liked' the post and the 2.5 lakh who shared it! Had I encountered this image 5 years ago, I'd have been shocked to see it (Hell, for a second, I thought it was real, in spite of the fact that I could actually do it!), but I decided to come up with something of my own to prove the people who were bewildered by this image!

Half Century!

This is my fiftieth blog post in just less than 10 months of starting the blog, 'Random Geeky Thoughts' to 'Transcendental Tech Talk'! Only a fellow blogger would know how important this micro site is to me, and how a simple view or a comment excites me, as I know that someone out there is reading something I have written! With 7173 pageviews till date, I hope this blog gets far more in the days to come. Here's thanking all of you for reading my views and wishing myself a lot more blog posts in the future. Cheers!

Hunting for the perfect photograph on the go

After a week long trip hunting rocks, and studying their formation, changes over time and a lot more, I have realised that my knowledge in photography has increased significantly as compared to the geological counterpart. The most challenging part in the whole trip was taking pictures from a moving vehicle. Here are a few things I have realised after committing blunders trying to take pictures of the blue waters...

Things I learnt from the Field Trip

With the week long field trip getting over just today, there is a flow of emotion through me (and my batchmates as well, I presume.) Hence, I decided to dedicate a blog post to the same. Although the primary objective of this 3 credit course was to familiarize us with the lives of Geologists (I admit, that is tough), we ended up doing a lot more.

A break from blogging!

It has been nine months since I started this blog. Count the number of posts, and it averages out to around a post a week. However, my last post was almost four weeks ago. Firstly, I do not have any exams going on and secondly, today is the fifth holiday continuously! As I have not come up with anything of late, I decided it was time to ponder why I am finding it hard to think of anything to write.

Cursed end to a winter break; Yet again...

After coming to IIT Roorkee, this was the second winter break and today was the unfortunate day that I had chosen to return. I have mentioned pretty well what had happened last year when I was returning to Roorkee here. After that day was finally over, I had thought that I would never have such an experience again. I didn't, until today.

Conquering the FIFA 12 Career Mode

The career mode in FIFA has always been really very easy over the years. I stopped playing the career mode back in FIFA 10 when playing as the manager of Accrington, jumped three tiers of English football in three years consecutive years. With the FIFA 11 version being a bit too tough, the current one is just about right!

The Owl and the Pussy Cat

Although I've changed a lot over the years, there was a time I used to recite poems pretty nicely (Courtesy: Mamma). In the competitions, I used to fly past my competitors. Being a child, I even show actions during the course of the poem. If you ask me my favorite, the spontaneous answer would be 'Charge of the Light Brigade' by Alfred, Lord Tennyson. However, the other day, Mamma reminded me of a far more hilarious one that I really used to enjoy during my childhood: 'The Owl and the Pussy Cat' by Edward Lear. So, laugh away as you read this (and maybe imagine me reciting it with the actions)...
