Come on, even in this era, do you actually want to believe in such things. Although I decided to go with the trends and give a fancy status update regarding the doomsday, but that was more related to my desperation to watch Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides more than anything else...
Let us look at what this is all about. Wikipedia says "The Last Judgment, Final Judgment, Day of Judgment, Judgment Day, or The Day of the Lord in Christian theology, is the final and eternal judgment by God of every nation. It will purportedly take place after the resurrection of the dead and the Second Coming of Christ ." The 2011 end times prediction made by Christian radio host Harold Camping stated that the Rapture (in premillennial theology, the taking up into heaven of God's elect people) would take place on May 21, 2011 and that the end of the world as we know it will take place five months later on October 21, 2011.
But wait! Let's just consider what will happen if the World does end after some time of this post! Firstly, I'll be happy that I could watch POTC: On Stranger Tides but then again, it would be really bad that movies like Hangover 2, Kung Fu Panda 2, Harry Potter 7- Part 2, Green Lantern, X Men First Class, Transformers 3 never got a chance to release(and of course I couldn't watch them)! The English Premier League would never have got a chance to end and (technically,) Manchester United would never cross Liverpool in the number of first class titles. I'd personally never get a chance to teach in ImpaCt! Mamata Banerjee never gets the chance to implement any of her ideas. And I never return to Roorkee (that's sad!) and give the finishing touches to my first intranet application.
How to save yourself? Hmmm... That's a tough question, but you can build an Arc! For video tutorials, watch 'Evan Almighty'! No other alternatives, mate! Or you don't happen to own the Black Pearl(unless you are CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow), do you?
But do you really think the world can end today? Here are five failed theories of the World's End and Harold Camping's theory may just end up being one of them :P
Let's come back to the topic: Will the world end today?
Seriously, I don't think so! And yeah, it's the wedding anniversary of my grandparents, so, I think I'll just go join the celebrations... Now, back to your work, folks, and thanks for reading the blog.
